Regarding Tic Douloureux
patients:
Most patients need 6 - 12 acupuncture treatments to get their
maximum relief. More than half had complete pain relief and were
able to stop their medications. However, this is a treatment and NOT a
cure. Most have their pain return in 1-3 months and will require
follow-up treatment. One patient, Mrs. M. had Tic Douloureux for 10
years. After 4 acupuncture treatments, she has come completely off her
Tegretol and after her sixth acupuncture treatment, she was completely
pain free.
Since December, 1996, she has had 5 follow up
treatments and to date remains pain free and off her Tegretol
medication.
